Fox-Proof Animal Run

This fully enclosed animal run is handmade using strong timber panels and 16G wire mesh, making it suitable for cats, dogs and a range of other small animals depending on the mesh option selected. Each run includes a door panel and mesh roof panels, helping keep your pets safely inside while also helping prevent animals from getting in from above.

Available Sizes

This run is available in the following size options:

• Standard Size
• 6ft x 6ft
• 8ft x 12ft
• 12ft x 8ft

The Standard Size run is approximately:

• 197cm wide
• 188cm long
• 184cm tall to the side panels
• 189cm tall, including the roof panels

All sizes are approximate. As our products are handmade, please allow for slight variation.

Available Colours

This run is available in the following colour options:

• Brown Stain
• Black
• Grey
• Green

The photos may show one example colour, but other colours are available. Please choose your preferred colour from the product options.

Construction and Materials

All of our enclosures are handmade using strong timber panels and 16G wire mesh. The 16G mesh is fox and dog-resistant, making it a secure option for outdoor animal runs.

The 16G panels are made using approximately 45mm timber. All timber is pressure-treated, and our standard finish is coated with an animal-friendly brown stain.

You can also choose a painted finish from the available colour options. If you would prefer to paint or stain the run yourself after delivery, please contact us to discuss the best timber finish for this.

Our timber is designed for outdoor use and has a long lifespan, but we recommend retreating it yearly, where possible, to help protect it from the weather.

Mesh Options

Each run comes with the option to choose the mesh hole size.

16G wire mesh is available in:

• 1/2" x 1/2"
• 1/2" x 1"
• 1" x 1"
• 2" x 2"

The best mesh size depends on the animal you are using the run for. For cats and dogs, 1" or 2" mesh is usually the most popular choice. For smaller animals such as rats, a smaller mesh such as 1/2" x 1/2" may be needed.

Security Features

The mesh roof panels mean the run is fully enclosed, helping stop pets from getting out and helping prevent other animals from getting in from above.

Fox guarding can also be added if the run is being placed on grass. Fox guarding is made from 10" strips of 2" 16G mesh, designed to sit along the outer edge of the run and be pegged down to the ground. This makes it much harder for animals such as foxes to dig into the run from the outside.

Optional Enrichment Packs

This run has the option to add enrichment extras, including shelves, ladders, rope bridges and sleeping crates. These are especially useful for cats and similar pets.

Available shelf packs include:

Large shelves pack:
12 shelves, 2 corner shelves, 1 sleeping crate, 2 rope bridges and 2 ladders.

Medium shelves pack:
9 shelves, 1 rope bridge and 1 ladder.

Small shelves pack:
5 shelves and 1 ladder.

You can also add rope bridges and sleeping crates using the options provided.

If you select “Do not add” on the relevant option, the run will not include that extra.

Rope bridges and sleeping boxes will be made to fit this run. Shelves will come with brackets and screws, even if a fixing pack is not added. Centre supports may be changed to vertical supports if shelves are added.

Although this product may show as “in stock”, all of our panels are made to order, as we do not have space to store every size and colour combination.
